Partnership with RECCO®
We are proud to announce our partnership with RECCO®, the world leader in passive search and rescue (SAR) technology. This collaboration is part of our ongoing effort to improve safety standards across all our mountaineering expeditions in Nepal integrating the RECCO SAR Technology in our expeditions
The RECCO SAR technology consists of two major elements: a passive reflector and an active detector. Reflectors are extremely lightweight, battery-less, maintenance-free transponders that make climbers detectable to trained rescue teams using handheld or helicopter-mounted detectors. Since 2024, the Government of Nepal has required the mandatory use of a “tracking chip” attached to every climber attempting a 6000+ mountain expedition in Nepal. However, we have been using RECCO technology for almost a decade now as a secondary safety system, and we now standardize it across all our climbs.
2025 onwards, every client on our expeditions will be equipped with two RECCO reflectors on their gears—one placed at the front, and one at the back—to ensure maximum signal visibility during emergency searches.
